Thank a Lineman on National Lineworker Appreciation Day

EEI and IBEW have designated July 10 as a day to recognize the 74,000 lineworkers across the country.

As the Southland recovers from the latest summer heat wave, Southern California Edison and its employees would like to recognize and thank its hardworking crews this July 10, National Lineworker Appreciation Day.

Through heat waves and rainstorms, crews work long hours to safely and quickly make repairs when power outages affect any of SCE’s 15 million customers across its 50,000-square-mile service area.

The Edison Electric Institute and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers have designated July 10 as a day to celebrate the 74,000 lineworkers across the country. It is also a day to honor the life and work of Henry Miller, the first president of IBEW.

Here is a photo essay dedicated to the SCE crews and personnel. You can also post comments on SCE’s social media feeds with the hashtag #ThankaLineman.
